Post Christmas

I took a break from blogging for the holidays.  Sometimes it seemed like I had nothing to say, and other times, no time to say anything.  We are back to home sweet home after filling our stockings with delicious and precious memories.  I'm so glad to be home.  Although my room is full of luggage to be unpacked, my furry boots have taken on a strange smell after being loaned to Aidan, and there are still presents to be mailed; it still feels restful to be home.

I am going to post pictures later of cousins and Hewitt type shenanigans, but I wanted to sneak in a picture first that I took in rural Oregon on the way back to Portland.

The rural parts of the country still tug at my heart.  And men in bushy beards and plaid still make me think of my dad and the "Wood Hippies" that surround my early memories.  I guess I'm still a bit of a country mouse at the core.  Moss covered roofs inspire me to have my ever accomodating husband, jerk the car around so I can tramp around taking pictures.

Doesn't it make you think of the shire, or gnomes and fairies?  And that any moment something magical might happen?

  1. YES! Totally gnomes and fairies! When I saw the thumbnail of this on my blogger reading list I fell in love. All of your pictures are good, but this one takes the cake. It is out of a storybook.

And don't feel too bad about the packages. I just mailed "Christmas" packages yesterday. I figure it extends the season.
